Air travel to Bahamas

We were pleased to find that there was a great selection of Airlines that service the Bahamas. The normal crowd of large airlines service the area. United Airlines, american and US air all have local service to the islands.

Great Drinks

Had a bananna cocanut dacari at one of the pools. I am not a big drinker but this was very smooth and delicious.

We tried several new and local favorites while in the Bahamas and were pleased with them all.

A very cool water slide

Well if you like water slides and you like marine life then the shark tank water slide will be a dream come true. It is a enclosed water slide that takes you directly through a large tank of sharks via a enclosed clear tube. You get to float by these huge beasts and enjoy a never seen before view. Very, very cool.

Family shopping

There could be some more options for average family shopping on paradise island or at the Atlantis. Sure there are some beautiful shops at Atlantis but they are Rodeo drive type places. We did some shopping there and picked up some cigars that were rolled by hand on site by a great gentleman from the local cigar manufacturer.

But if you are looking to normal items or local items that are not plastered with an Atlantis logo you must look hard or go to the straw market in town. The day we went it was terribly hot and the family only lasted about 45 minutes before giving up and heading over to the local hard rock cafe to re-hydrate and head back to the Atlantis pools and beach for the day.

We spent the last day running around trying to find a bag or simple pieve of luggage to take our purchase back on the morning we were leaving. We ended up findins something last minuter accros the street in the some local shop. Although the first bag that we grabbed had a cock roach in it, the second one worked out.

Atlantis casino resport

The Atlantis is a one of a kind place. The restaraunts and fish display is second to none. We spent the week finding new things every day. The Cafe at the great hall of waters was a family favorite. The kids love to eat breakfast among the sea life in Atlantis and the rest of us just loved the quite atmosphere of dining surrounded by water and fish. Nothing like enjoying your OJ and a waffle with a huge shark or ray swimming by.

Beautiful Nights

Every evening seems to bring a lightning storm off over the ocean. They never seemed to reach land but provided a nice back drop.
Each night we took a walk through the grounds and enjoyed the great weather, fun music and awesome landscape of the resort. Was a great get away for the family and some great evenings with my wife.
